AML Checks

Understand our AML process and verification requirements.

How do I complete my onboarding?

Once you have registered and verified your email address, you can log in to your Kuflink account and continue your onboarding journey.

As part of the onboarding process, you will be asked to complete a number of steps, including:

  • investor categorisation and the appropriateness assessment;

  • identity verification;

  • proof of address verification;

  • bank account verification; and

  • finalisation of your investor agreement.

You must complete your onboarding within 30 days of verifying your email address.

If you do not complete the onboarding process within 30 days, your application will be deactivated and you will need to start the registration process again as a new user.

How do I complete my identity check?

As part of your onboarding journey, you will be asked to complete an identification check.

You will need to:

  • provide a valid government-issued photo identity document, such as a passport, driving licence or National Identity Card and

  • take a photograph of your face so that your identity can be verified against the document provided.

Please follow the instructions provided during the onboarding process when taking and uploading your photographs.

If you do not have one of the standard identity documents listed above, please contact our Investor Relations team at hello@kuflink.com or via online chat.

Our Investor Relations team will discuss the alternative documents that may be accepted and guide you through the verification process.

We will ask for re-verification when your ID expires.

To successfully complete your identification check, you will need to take a photo of a valid government-issued photo ID, e.g. passport, driving licence, or National Identity card and a picture of your face.

These checks are solely to verify your identity, are not a credit check and will not be visible on your credit record.

Some tips to ensure the identity verification goes smoothly:

  • Take a clear photo of your ORIGINAL IDENTITY DOCUMENT (‘ID’) only, where every single detail is readable without any blur.

  • Please ensure the whole number located at the bottom of the Passport is within the picture

  • Please only upload JPEG, PNG or PDF files.

  • Take the photos somewhere brightly lit

  • Turn flash off to avoid glare on your ORIGINAL ID

  • Make sure the details on your Kuflink profile match the details on your ORIGINAL legal document, i.e. Thomas not Tom where applicable

  • Make sure that your ORIGINAL legal document has at least 3 months validity remaining

  • Please DO NOT UPLOAD PHOTOS OF COPY IDENTITY DOCUMENTS

  • Please DO NOT UPLOAD SCANS OF COPY IDENTITY DOCUMENTS

  • Please DO NOT UPLOAD an UPSIDE down picture

  • Please DO NOT UPLOAD a small image at the top of an A4 sheet (the scanner is looking for the whole number at the bottom of the A4 sheet)

I do not have access to a camera or a scanned copy of my ID, in this instance what can I do?

You can return and complete your identity verification at a later stage, provided you do so within 30 days of verifying your email address.

If you experience any difficulties completing your identity check, please contact our Investor Relations team at hello@kuflink.com or via online chat, and they will be happy to assist you.

What if I do not have the relevant identification documents - passport, driving licence or National Identity Card or my documents have expired?

If you do not have a passport, driving licence or National Identity Card, or your documents have expired, please contact our Investor Relations team at hello@kuflink.com or via online chat.

We may be able to accept alternative documentation depending on your circumstances. Our team will explain what documentation is required and how it should be provided.

Alternative documents may require additional verification checks and therefore may take longer to review.

Why do I need to take a photo of myself?

As part of the identity verification process, we ask you to take a photograph of yourself so that we can compare it with the photograph on your identity document.

This helps us confirm that the identity document belongs to you and helps protect customers and Kuflink against identity theft, impersonation and fraud.

The process can normally be completed using a smartphone or other compatible device by following the instructions provided during onboarding.

If you are unable to complete the verification using this method, please contact us at hello@kuflink.com or via online chat and we will discuss the available options with you.

Why do I need to upload my bank statement?

We use the statement to help verify that the bank account details you have provided belong to you and are consistent with the information provided during onboarding.

Your bank account details will be reviewed by our team before your onboarding is completed.

In some circumstances, we may need to request additional information or documentation as part of our customer due diligence checks.
